Orchestration and Workflow

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator

The JD Edwards Orchestrator Solutions Series serves to educate business professionals on the benefits of Orchestrator, and how it can be used effectively in their business practices. In the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator studio, we have major functionalities that can help us automate business workflows inside of an Orchestration.

Orchestration and Workflow

In Part 2 of our four-part video series, Consultant Tomas Garcia walked us through the process of using Orchestrator to schedule batch jobs. Today, we will be diving into the workflow process in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator.

The workflow creation tool allows us to execute various steps inside of an Orchestration, which can also accommodate multiple request types. In this video, we will generate only two types of requests, a service request to call a JDE form application, and a message requests to submit an email once the workflow is completed.

A basic workflow created in the Orchestrator studio can include different rules that trigger a customized step by step process. An example of this may be to run a backup process in case a report executions fails, or submit an email once an execution is completed. The basic workflow functionalities can be customized to generate advanced work flows, and can help us automate quite complex processes with the current Orchestrator studio version.

In part three of our four part series, Tomas highlights the details of Orchestration and workflow fundamentals.
