REST API Connection

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator

The JD Edwards Orchestrator Solutions Series serves to educate business professionals on the benefits of Orchestrator, and how it can be used effectively in their business practices. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator is a key aspect of an Internet of things (IoT) configuration with EnterpriseOne, and supports other various integrations with cloud services, third-party applications, custom programs and more. This video gives a thorough overview of how to create a connection with REST API to consume a web service in JD Edwards Orchestrator.

Integrating Orchestrator into an External Connection

Those not familiar with REST web services may be unaware of the various benefits of using them with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator. Representational State Transfer (REST) is an architectural style which provides standards for computer systems on the web, making it easier for them to communicate with each other. RESTful web services are built to work with a large diversity of web based applications to consume or receive data in real time.

Orchestrator helps open the avenues of digital communication, sending and receiving data from external services so that it can be used, processed or consumed by a JDE transaction. There are various tools in Orchestrator that allow users to create a service connection. This connection will generate a service request inside the Orchestrator studio, so the user can request data from the REST API.

In part one of our four part series, consultant Tomas Garcia shows the process of generating a JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator REST API Connection.
