EMPLOYEES: 26,000+
INDUSTRY: Oil & Gas
HEADQUARTERS: Connecticut
FOUNDED: 1907
The Problem
Coordinating the activity among many sites and in many countries, the client looked to JD Edwards and Smartbridge personnel to solve its worldwide coordination issues. They needed help managing multiple JD Edwards environments and projects worldwide.
The Solution
In order to meet the client’s needs, our professionals managed three concurrent projects and teams.
The first team implemented a standardized costing process for all North American companies. The second team developed a new Financial Chart of Accounts encompassing all businesses for Europe, Asia, South America, and North America. The third team implemented JD Edwards Manufacturing, PDM, and Shop Floor Control, in a subsidiary business that manufactures and refurbishes high-pressure tanker trucks.
The Result
By standardizing the costing process between sites and establishing a standard Chart of Accounts to be used worldwide, the client could effectively define, measure, and manage their business across the globe. The manufacturing process resulted in increased efficiencies and less overhead resulting in greater profit for their tanker truck manufacturing division.
