Automation 360: One Platform to Automate Them All

Automation Anywhere released the world’s only, secure, integrated, cloud-native Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platform: Automation 360. In this article, we dive into Automation 360’s new features, and how you can obtain the benefits of this modern, cloud platform.

With the latest announcement from Automation Anywhere, their automation business platform became the first and only cloud-based platform for end-to-end automations.

Automation Anywhere gave us a surprise during their March event by announcing the merge of their enterprise platform and web-based development platform into one single solution called Automation 360. Automation Anywhere has been migrating users to their new cloud platform since September 2020.

“The leaders of organizations around the world today are seeking to reinvent their enterprises for a post-COVID-19 era by using cloud automation to build more efficient, agile, and resilient operating models.” – Prince Kohli, CTO at Automation Anywhere

One Platform

Automation 360 is intended to consolidate all of the front and backend business automations by integrating all business application types as one, unified automation experience.

The integration of both legacy and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications is one of their key features. This feature provides the tools required to automate directly through the web-based platform from all Desktop, Web, and SaaS API Services in one unique framework.

It also offers the possibility of hybrid environments. Due to compliance and data regulations or legacy system requirements, for automations that can’t be entirely hosted on the cloud, an on-premises add-on can be included to use alongside the cloud automation management platform.

What else can you do now with Automation 360?

With this new release, the business automation journey to hyperautomation can continue to grow faster and easier with these integrated platform tools:

  • Discovery Bot: Helps discover and keep track of the highest ROI automation opportunities in your organization.

  • IQ Bot: Manages and gathers structured and unstructured data (i.e. emails, business documents) for business processes using AI and ML capabilities.

  • RPA Workplace: For a secure and reliable automation platform, using the RPA Workplace alongside AARI digital assistants can execute, automate, and bring more value for day-to-day automation projects.

  • Bot Insight: An insight into all the automation processes in a single application in order to best optimize your bot’s performance, especially when making decisions and deciding room for improvement.

For the automation services and tools Smartbridge provides, making sure your employees and customers are satisfied is very important. With a single front office/back office solution in place, there’s now an opportunity to increase customer satisfaction and optimize time spent with customer’s issues by deploying a more powerful and reliable automation of manual/complex processes. Even on legacy systems!

Additional Benefits of Automation 360

  • Duplicate the number of automation processes out of the box by having them stored on this cloud platform.

  • Reduce infrastructure, maintenance, and operation costs by 1/5 of your current expenses while increasing security and performance, allowing room for future automation deployments.

  • With the reduced time for setup, creation, and deployment of the process bots, you can be up and running 3x faster than other RPA platforms.

  • With the constant growth of the processes that can be automated, it’s easier than ever to use one of Automation 360’s pre-built bots that can accelerate your automation journey. These prebuilt bots are available at Automation Anywhere’s Bot Store.

Migrating to the RPA cloud

Moving your RPA platform to the cloud is a big decision, and you need to trust your automation partner and their respective processes. The transition shouldn’t be difficult with the currently available solutions.

First things first, we need to know if you already started your automation journey using Automation Anywhere solutions. This will define if you will be migrating from an older version.

If you are new to this entire process, congratulations! You can have a clean and fresh start.

All Cloud or Hybrid? How to Choose

For either case, it’s important to define how you want your automation deployment model to be. It can be entirely on the Automation 360 cloud, or you can have a hybrid model, where you can keep part of the installation on-premises while having the benefits of the cloud-based platform.

The key decision point for RPA vendors is the ease of implementation in order to move their customer’s on-premises software as-is into the Automation 360 cloud.

Cloud-native is the best practice of building a cloud automation stack with segregated components; each of which performs a different function and carries a different type of traffic/usage.

  • Management component

  • Control component

  • Data component

Installing the components independently of each other benefits both developers and customers with the best operational efficiencies and application consumption.

The cloud-native and hybrid architecture gives companies the option of where to place each component:

  • On-premises

  • In a private or public cloud

  • Software as a Service (SaaS)-based option managed by Automation Anywhere

In Automation Anywhere’s previous 2019 release, there was the implementation of Microservices Architecture. Microservices Architecture separated the operations of multiple components, allowing the segregation of the entire process or application (Monoliths) into smaller and easy-to-use application modules. These independent operations enable scaling the services needed by providing fault tolerance and resilience, and at the same time, it optimizes computing resources.

These benefits will be likely transferred to Automation 360 to include the developer console and development framework as an independent microservice.

In conclusion, the renewed and refined Automation 360 cloud-native service is more than just virtualizing on-premises RPA solutions and delivering them via the cloud. This innovation means reengineering the design, implementation, deployment, and operation of your RPA solution applications from their core foundation.

By migrating to the Automation 360 cloud, it creates the environment to increase reliability, availability, and ease of implementation while reducing costs of infrastructure and increasing customer and employee satisfaction.
