Project Description

iPad Apps Improve Sales Processes of a $12B Multinational Medical Company

The Client

The client is a multinational manufacturer and marketer of medical products that save and sustain the lives of people with hemophilia, immune disorders, infectious diseases, kidney disease, trauma, and other chronic and acute medical conditions. With extensive expertise in medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology products, the client is an innovator with $12.8 billion revenue and has approximately 50,000 employees worldwide.

The Problem

The common practice in traditional sales organizations in the medical industry is to create and use printed brochures and literature to discuss and sell new medical products to physicians and hospitals. The paper based sales tools are cumbersome and costly. Changes to the documents are not often received timely by the sales staff who often operate in diverse geographical areas. The advent of iPads created new, exciting and cheaper ways of arming sales personnel with the latest sales tools and information at their fingertips – anytime, anywhere.

The Solution

Smartbridge partnered with a leading digital marketing technology company to create an exciting new iPad-based sales enablement application. This application provides access to rich sales content using a highly visual and easy to use interface that requires practically no training.

The application supports diverse content types such as case studies, videos, PowerPoint presentations, PDF documents, product spec sheets and training material. Sales personnel have immediate access to physician contact details and key marketing and medical industry conferences and events.

The Result

The client successfully deployed iPads preloaded with this innovative sales enablement application to the entire sales organization of the company. The application is expected to save a significant amount of print and distribution costs, deliver an enhanced sales experience for the customer and increase effectiveness of the sales campaigns.
